Perfect for a power outage or when you need a small portable lantern. This comes in a plastic container that is almost easy to pull apart. I didn't have to use anything to cut it open. There are not directions on this, but it has a USB cord that you plug into a computer or charger and the light will start working immediately as it charges.
The power switch is a rubber button on the bottom and you can press it again for high, low, strobe, and off. There is a hook for hanging and magnets for sticking to metal on the bottom too. Along with another USB port that can be used to charge your phone. The light can be used as a lantern or a flashlight and it is water resistant. This rechargeable LED lantern is bright, small, and lightweight.
Great little light. I though it was goin to be a bit bigger than it is but actually nice and compact and plenty bright enough. Also has ability to charge USB device phone or small speaker. Specs say that it last up to 12 hours on full charge. That seems to be consistent with the battery life indicator. Charges my iPhone at the same speed a 1amp charges does.
This is my first time using a CAT product. I like this rechargeable utility work light a lot. When you turn it on, you press the button once to check the battery level, and twice to turn on the light. The ray of light is very bright. When you press the button again, it's dim. And press it again, it blinks.
This work light came fully charged, so didn't have to charge it additionally. This light also has two magnets, which enable the light to get attached to any metallic surface--including to a car. In addition, it can also function as a lantern and hung. It has a USB cable for charging, which is great. It would have been even better if the cable was a little longer. A 120 volt power adapter would have been nice as well, so that it doesn't depend only on USB.
This light also has a USB port so that devices can be charged from it, like a cell phone, which is really comfortable. It is great to use for travel, or even at home if there's no electricity. This is a great light that's comfortable to use. I like it a lot. It's also compact and mobile, and very flexible in terms of how it can be used. I love the features, and this work light completely fulfills my needs.
The CAT Dual FunctionTop Rechargeable Utility Work Light is certainly worthy of the CAT name, strong and functional with a slight twist. The day we received ours I took it out of the box and out to continue my work in rebuilding a 1952 International Harvester Super A tractor. Working to replace the brakes, you first have to pull the axle housings-oh but first you have to remove several hundreds pounds of wheel and tire assemblies as well as the floor board which means unfastening nuts and bolts that had not been touched in 64 years of hard work in the wet environment of southern Georgia. The magnets in the base of the Dual Function light performed admirably holding the light in a horizontal position for awhile as well as vertical -- and I am please to report colorful cursing failed to affect it! It was jarred lose on several occasions when a wrench unexpectedly came off the nut resisting removal and while the light bounced several times on the concrete floor it did not affect it's operation. There are hooks incorporated in the base that would have held it much better. I have not used the lamp function yet, I was impressed with how easy it was to transition from flashlight to lamp and back, I was also impressed with the ability to charge my phone while operating the flashlight. My only reservation with this light is the short cord wrapped around the base ending in a USB plug -- it is like this wonderful work light engineer had to go away and turned to a Computer Geek to finish the one last simple thing, just design a plug in and "presto change-oh" we have a USB plug, oh well 99% great and a minor inconvenience
I've been looking for an emergency light to keep in my car. I also keep one stuck magnetically to the side of my refrigerator for the inevitable power outage. It is smaller than it appears in the images on this page, but that's a mark in its favor for me; it goes into the glovebox without taking up much space, but it's bright enough to see what you need to do on that dark country road (change a tire or set it on the road as a flashing emergency light). It charges with a USB connection, and the cord wraps neatly around the base of the light. The only drawback is how short the USB cord is, which is the result of making it wrap once about the light base. The cool thing is that it can serve as an area light when extended or be a bright flashlight when collapsed.
To me, this kind of light is essential emergency equipment for the home, car, motorcycle, and any other vehicle. There are less expensive lights available, but the cheaper ones I've had are great until they are dead when I need them most. Having two rechargeable lithium ion batteries should keep it ready with occasional charging.
