This hub puller performed well on the 97 Pontiac Grand Prix.
It pulled the hub assembly off the axle with ease.
Bought it to replace the half shafts on a Santa Fe after realizing that a hammer wouldn't do it. Worked great, almost too easy. I kind of wanted to get the satisfaction of fighting just a little only to have the feeling of victory. It just pushed the axle out of the hub.
It's not Snap-On quality, but it's not junk...and it worked perfectly for me. I used it to pull the front bearing hub assemblies off of my 2003 Explorer. The bridge part of the tool is substantial and thick, and the pin is obviously high-grade steel. After use, there was none of the obvious damage you would see on a low-grade pin.
I searched around, and this was the best price I could find on a decent version of this tool. I'm quite satisfied with it, and would recommend it.
I could not get worn hub bearing off 2004 Buick so I order this from Amazon. Quick shipping got it to me in a few days. I expected to put this on the hub, give it a little torgue with a breaker bar, and hub would fall off. Wrong. Breaker bar with 4ft. pipe, and it fought me the whole way. Surprised this puller did not break with the pressure I was putting on it. Could not have done the job without it. Garage wanted $125 for labor, so I am way ahead.
I used an identical OEM product sold by AUTOZONE for $25.00, and it is part of their free tool rental program... buy it, use it, return it all according to their own procedure for free rental. I used this as a press, on an 2006 VW Beetle CV half-axle extraction. This allows 3 of the wheel axle bolts to be placed through the slots and this centers on the axle. This centered concentrated push on the axle allows it to slowly work its way free, I really see axle extraction without this a hassle but with it no hammers, no pounding and it simply presses out the axle from the hub... of course this is the last step you do after loosing everything else up. Quality product, what is funny looks light and week on-line but in the box it is heavy duty and showed no wear after I used it on two axle presses / removals. So if you need one buy it... and it got the job done for me.
