Wow. What a great tool set. I recently rebuilt my front end on my GMC pickup, and I ordered this set to power through the job. I used it to remove my inner and outer tie rods on both sides, and then finally my upper and lower ball joints on both sides. For each use I first attached the fork to my cheap garage sale air hammer. The hammer is rated for use at 90 psi air pressure. 25% of the time I could separate the tie rod or ball joint with only the use of air power. The rest, I had to finish off with manual hammering. This does not speak poorly about the product, rather, perhaps the combination of beefy truck steering and suspension parts and a lousy air hammer. However, it did a remarkable job starting the splitting action, getting half way through the split, and I could then switch over to manual hammering. I used a 2 lb sledge, and even after hitting it a ton of times, the strike end has not mushroomed, and the shaft has not bent. I am very picky about the tools I use, and I really don't trust cheap metal tools that I have to rely on for hardness and strength. I would definitely recommend this tool for anybody seeking a reliable automotive tool. The case is very nice too.
