This thing struggles and I mean really STRUGGLES with 3/16 thick 2 1/2in square tubing & 3/16 thick 5” wide flat plate
!!!!!!!do not trust the factory cut angle° markings on the guide clamp!!!!! °it’s always makes cuts a few degrees off until I triple checked everything and etched on my own markings Onto the fence because what it’s telling you is a 0 ° - 45° Cut On the guide is not really accurate! It’s noisy and dusty but gets the job done for cheap. I wish I had some super fancy equipment like a band saw or something of that nature but this thing is relatively compact and pulls its own weight- if Milwaukee could only improve on the accuracy of the ° angle cut fence I would be much happier!
Also pick up some more cutting wheels if your working on a project - I’ve made less than 30 cuts and already burned 2 1/4” in off my abrasive wheel - they are consumed quickly
bought the saw 5-20-18 and as of 10-14-18, it had burned one of the brushes up, split the brush retainer cap and the plastic socket that holds the brush. I always thought Milwaukee was a terrific brand, but no more. This thing is junk and should be taken off the market before someone gets hurt by it.
Very pleased with this product.
I own all the Milwaukee cordless stuff and use it at our shop and at work flawlessly for years. So when I needed a new chop saw Milwaukee was obvious choice. I opened the box at noon today and saw quit working at about 3. I am really disappointed with this purchase.
I have been using this saw for almost 2 years for heavy cutting and thick steel. Its for a hobby but always works when I need it to and cuts relatively square, its not perfect but its also not a commercial grade saw.
