I read some of the reviews and was a bit skeptical but it ended up working OK for me. Only problem was when inner tool came of because nut pushed it. Had to use vise grips to run it off of a couple of threads. Worked good putting new shock back on.
great tool to have when changing front shocks holds the shock stem in place so the nut can be tighten, stem tool worked fine on both shocks stems that I removed and replaced but the nut tool didn't work with the new shock, the nut was to large but that was ok I used an opened end wrench to install, tool is alot better than grip pliars, gave 4 stars because of nut tool not working with new shocks lucky I had an open end wrench that fit.
This is a great tool and made the job much easier than doing it the "old way". Using a rust buster on the old shock stem is still recommended. Bought directly from Amazon and the tool arrived in 2 days. Great service!
By using the correct tools make the job done faster and easier. This is a simple tool but without it working on shock absorber in tight places would be impossible.
I tried it without this tool and it was impossible. Worked perfectly on my 2003 Chevy Astro van's front shocks. Lisle did a great job. I am glad Amazon sold this because not available at AutoZone. No one there ever heard of a tool like this; too bad for them.
Fits most domestic models and some Ford OEM shock nuts. Place stem socket over shock stem. Hex nut socket fits the nut. Hold one, turn the other for removal.
