Tips are replaceable, which is a must. Tips are one of those things on retaining ring players that break.
Internal/external setting switch works well. Lets you use it to undo both types of retaining ring.
Return spring is fairly strong and seems like it will hold up.

This is the midsize model, they also sell a 10" and 6" model if you need one larger or smaller.
