The best cordless impact wrench you can buy. I like everything about this Ingersoll W5152 impact, it has plenty of torque for its size, uses the outstanding IQV20 batteries, is relatively light weight for the power it has and it is very well made. It is adjustable in power, the IQV20 batteries charge quickly and have indicators to tell you battery charge state. It is not cheap but it takes a well designed cordless tool to rival the power from an air impact wrench. With this Ingersoll W5152 and the other IQV20 series tools you are now free from an air line and can have the impact power you need anywhere. I also have the IQV20 ratchet and it works great too, nice that they all use the same battery.
From my husband, who is a mechanic: First of all every cordless impact needs a light like this one has period. It seems like a simple and obvious thing looking at it but that halo light really dramatically improves visibility. As for the tool itself as soon as you pick it up its almost as if you can feel the quality in this thing. Comparing this to my high torque output Dewalt, it doesn't come close to matching it in how fast it takes off a lug nut on one test. If you're working on bolts that require a bit more umpf to get off I could see this tapping out so save up a little more and get the high torque impact with all the options on this guy. The angle of the tool is also a plus to the design. The approximate torque settings on the back are also something that every impact should have. The trigger varies output based on how hard its pressed which can be helpful. The price point is a little steep and I haven't put it to use for very long like I have another of my cordless impacts but I'd bet good money that this thing is gonna last a long time and get plenty of bolts loose for me. Will update after six months (frequent) of usage or if there is a relevant update sooner (like something breaks).
This is a very heavy duty impact wrench. It was used to do the repair and replacement of an entire front end in the first week after arrival. The tool handled the breakaway torque for all of the removals. It also handled all of the re-installation tasks, from high torque all the way to minimum torque. That minimum torque is important, the plastic covers were installed and run down all the way without cracking any of the plastic covers. I liked the ability to have a task light built into the face of the wrench, it made the work in tight places much easier. The wrench did not over heat and need to rest like so many of the battery powered impact wrenches do. The entire front end repair was accomplished on the single battery charge, and the charge indicator only dropped by one bar(dot).
This Kit comes with a nice carry bag and two batteries, one large and one smaller capacity.
What I Like:
· Very Heavy duty, has amazing torque and does not need to rest, does not over heat.
· Light built into the wrench and points at the work.
· Handles low torque/fragile work as well as heavy duty work.
· Nice carry bag.
What I don’t like:
· The tool is ONLY an impact Wrench. It would be nice to have it function as a hammer drill as well.
· This is an expensive tool. If you are a dedicated mechanic, and don’t want to drag hoses, OK, but it is costly for casual use.
Overall rating is 4.5 star, after one week of use. No information on long term durability yet.
As my first purchase for a 1/2 inch this definitely exceeds my expectations. Constantly being used as a go to by me and other techs hasn't let me down. Removes lug nuts with ease and is comfortably lightweight for an electric gun.
This 1/2" drive impact wrench not only met, but exceeded my expectations. This kit was delivered very quickly and in EXCELLENT condition!!! I am very pleased and would highly recommend this Kit to anyone who is in the automotive/mechanical field or DIYer!!! This is a GREAT product!
