These are great for splicing two pieces of rope together. They are easy to use and you doon't need a lot of strenth to sqeeze them together.

Expensive but good for small hog rings

Yes, they cost more than the ones you can buy at Rural King or the local hardware.

We use a fair number of hog rings in connection with small sailboats -- mostly 1/4" to 1/2" size in stainless. Those cheaper ones are just too big for the small hog rings and you can't get a good "squeeze" or crimp. These are perfect for the smaller rings.

I used these to crimp bungee cord. They work excellent! I can put an enormous amount of pressure on the hog ring to securely hold the bungee cord.
