This is perhaps the only tool that can reach/release some of the hose clamps on my cars. Overall quality is good and you can tell it's not a bargain-basement tool, but it has a few issues that, for the price, keep it from being a 5-star tool in my opinion.
First and foremost, the ratcheting locking mechanism badly needs to have twice as many teeth. This sounds petty, but even as a humble DIYer I've been stuck in-between teeth more than once and it is very frustrating.
Second, this tool is a pain in the butt to store (especially if your box is space-limited). The stiff cable has a mind of its own and gets friggin' everywhere it you don't want it to be in your toolbox. There is no retention hook or mechanism on the body of the tool so that you can coil up the cable for storage. I personally think this is a pretty major design oversight that should be addressed if Astro makes a newer revision down the road. Zip-ties work, but there should really be some thought put into cable management from the factory.
All the (hopefully constructive) criticism aside, I'd still recommend these if you're in the market for some cable style hose clamp pliers. I vastly prefer using my more standard Blue-Point HCP9 pliers for easy to reach clamps, but sometimes they just can't get into a cramped area and that's where these Astro's really shine.
