I have this and the old standard style gauges. Whenever the other will not fit, this one will. Takes a couple of uses to get used to this product, but works real well once comfortable with reading and using. I would recommend getting this to go along side your other gauge, great addition. Thanks.

Works on most vehicles

This product is quick, easy to use, and effective. I only rated it at four stars simply because on some vehicles the diameter of the tool makes it difficult to get an accurate measurement. (Won't fit between caliper bracket and pad) However, you can usually use this on the outside pad without issue. It's just a better habit to measure the inside pad to ensure the slide pins aren't sticking.

OTC 6596 disc brake pad gauge

I purchased to use at work. I also have the standard type gauge most people use (red, yellow, green gauge). This will let you measure pads thickness without pulling the wheels most of the time. Very compact with red, yellow, green scale. Also has numbered markings like a tread depth gauge. Spring loaded measures distance between rotor and backing plate of pad. Also very good for measuring thickness of inner pad while you're changing oil. Numbered markings are in millimeters. I still use the conventional brake gauge as well. The 6569 gauge is a good addition to your toolbox.
