Great idea for grease guns

Bought this because I had a Lincoln grease gun which I bulk fill from a barrel of grease using the nipple on the head of the gun. I seemed to have continual problems with the rubber seal at the head of the spring assembly turning over into the cartridge fill position and therefor pumping grease past the head of the assembly and into the spring area. Result, no grease coming out when you pump the gun. Had to take off the bottom cap and waste all that grease by pulling out and cleaning the spring assembly. This allows me to not only visually see the amount of grease left in the gun but has allowed me to monitor the rubber seal when filling and for some reason I haven't had the grease bypass problem since I put this clear barrel on the gun.I love the silly thing.
The only potential problem I see is that with long use, the clear barrel may get scraped and dinged up over time and somewhat obscure the view but I expect it will still remain useful.

Where have you been all my life?

This completely eliminates the frustration of running out of grease in the middle of a maintenance project. I thought there may be issues of the grease leaking by the cup seal, but none so far. The instructions say to replace the old seal with the one enclosed. Well, there wasn't one enclosed and I used the old seal - no problem. However, I would strongly suggest that you make the change-out with an empty gun. This is a wonderful idea.
