This is hands down, MY FAVORITE tool. When in question of bolt size, Grab this. When your have multiple sized bolts and nuts and don't want to walk back and forth to the box, grab this. Need to bend some metal in the middle of a job with out marring the surface, these will do. Don't want to spend money on a 2" socket, No problem. Need to do a press fit of two pieces that JUST BARELY are interference fit, you have these.
I received a pair of these when I started A&P school (Aircraft Maintenance), and over my 10 year carrier, at my home, and on my vehicles I grab this most often. It is the King of multi purpose tools and although it is not the best at anything, it is the fastest and easiest solution more times than not. If I was stranded on the side of the road, I would want these with me.
As a professional, I love these. As a home owner, I love these, As shade tree mechanic, I love these.
I used these a lot at work and finally got a pair for myself. The use and abuse these stood up to was amazing. A few times we put three foot pieces of pipe on the handles to get added leverage. They functioned perfectly and the steel is incredibly strong. The parallel jaw motion, adjustable range of opening, and strength makes them really versatile and I was always using them for something or another. In almost all cases they're better than using an open end wrench because they grip the entire flat of the bolt/nut, not just two corners. If using them on a stuck bolt/nut, turn them over so that you're pushing/pulling on the handle moves the jaw. This adds to the clamping force. There are a range of sizes but the 250 or 300 are a good choice for a wide range of jobs.
The Cobra pliers are equally amazing in their own right, as are the high leverage SBA End Cutters.
Love this tool!!!
Great EDC tool.
I bought this to replace a few wrenches in my motorcycle tool bag and it did not disappoint the grip force from this tool is unreal from mechanical way it works the jaws do not move much because of that aso you do have to pick the correct size to use for the nut/bolt but you will not strip anything with these better than vise grips
