Junk bearings. Cheap metal parts. Overpriced replacement parts

After reading the glowing reviews I didn't hesitate to purchase this one. I've used it only a handful of times and in those times it kept throwing the belt so at first I thought the tension was off. I finally figured out that the pully wheel wasn't spinning freely. Further investigation found that the bearings were coming apart and had seized up with the pully shaft. Nothing I tried would free it up. I tried clamping the pully wheel with vice grips to hold it still while I turned the shaft and it cracked. So now I'm at about 50 bucks worth of parts to replace and I don't think its even worth it since the tool never worked right even when it was new

Don't hesitate just buy it

Love it love it. I'm very impressed with the performance for this tool. Well worth the money. If your doing heavy grinding pick up some extra sanding belts you will need them. But all belt Sanders ate that way.

defective but its a fluke

Dony want to ruin the rating for this because i owned one in the past and it wws great for grinding off spot welds. But i think i have received a defective one because the belt kept slipping of the front. So Amazon is taking it back. Thanks amazon. I love chicago pneumatic but i think i will go for a half inch by 18 inch one, woah CP made it in those dimensions.
