I actually do like this sander. Now, I put it together this AM (Air fitting, 3M Pad, etc.) and I used it to prep some parts. It took some getting used to, because it is 3/32, and not 3/16 like I am used to. My original fine offset sander is a Hutchins 4500 that I have had for 17 years... (Still works) Anyway, I am painting Cromax Pro Waterborne, and I thought that this would work best for prepwork due to the finer offset. My goal is to minimize sand scratches as much as possible, because Waterborne does not fill coarse scratches at all. nor does it hide bad bodywork, but I digress.. Sander! Ok, so the positives..
It is an EXCELLENT finishing sander, which is what it bought it for in the first place. I did some buffing today, it is EXCELLENT for that as well... It is louder than I was hoping for, but if one turns down the air about half way, all is well in the world.. Unfortunately, working flatrate, I am not able to take my time doing ANYTHING, so there is the reason for 4 out of 5 stars. Would I buy it again? Maybe I will try the 3/16's and see if I like that one better.....
