There's not enough padding on the cushion. The position cushion should be adjustable.
This was purchased for my husband and son to work on the "big trucks" My son said it is a true back saver!
High-quality makes the job easier highly recommend
First of all, this is made by traxion engineering and is the 3-100-FFP that has been made for ATD and costs $100 more. The box even lists this ATD as the 3-100
My one day review:
All of the parts were in the box, the directions for assembly were a no brainer.
There was some wear/pin holes in the cheap vinyl cushion upon opening the factory packaging. Nothing huge, but was there.
The welds were solid on the frame. Nothing like some of the reviews of the 3-100 that I have heard previously. Better Quality Control on the newer products? Not sure, but I am happy with the solidness of this frame.
I am not digging the rear padded bar on the steps. It gets in my way and I am not really sure on its purpose. Anyone?
The front pads protect the vehicle ok enough for cheap foam pads. There are better pad options out there. I used 3/4" wall Cu pipe insulation from my local hvac supply house for better protection.
I would also recommend a 2" radius or other on the top platform to ladder bolting area. ( for a traxion engineering recommendation) That is a fairly sharp corner for a persons soft spots.
The padded deck was not long enough for me to reach some of the items in the engine compartment. Playing superman in a full outstretched position, or kneeling on the padded deck in order to reach the furthest areas did work and this stand was really stable while doing so. The extended reach questions may prove a disappointment on my next project however. More experimentation later
The front tool pouch is basic, and works. Plan on using your magnetic tool/socket racks on the decks platform rails for ease of accessibility. Using your magnetic trays for bolts and such are a real necessity on this creeper because of the lack of storage.
This creeper just made my projects easier. There are some design tweaks but this creeper does a nice job. I think that the traxion 3-100 for $100 less is the better deal and not the ATD branded creeper.
