I like the Scotch-Brite discs but have never been a huge ...

I like the Scotch-Brite discs but have never been a huge fan of their durability (or lack of). When used with a small, high-speed tool (as they're designed to be) they do a terrific job of cleaning the surface but at the expense of a very short lifespan. The high speed seems to degrade or melt the abrasive "curls" fairly quickly, but if you know that going in (as I did) then buying the large box makes sense.
Don't get me wrong, they clean the surface great but they have a very limited lifespan.
