As a car repair hobbyist I love this little light. It is compact enough to get in small spaces, but still puts out a lot of light. The magnetized portions of the outer case are good for keeping the light in position while my hands are free to work.
It is easily recharged from a USB connection, but doesn't include a charger. Luckily I have extras USB power adapters around from previous cell phones.
Three levels of light output is also a great feature.
This is a 400 lumen LED light. It’s very bright. It’s not a direct beam like a flashlight but it will definitely light up your work area. The handle isn’t very large, so even if you’re petite (like me) you can get a pretty good grip on it. I also think it’s kind of cool that the LED’s spell out the name of the brand!
So far, I like this light a lot. In addition to the hook that swivels on the top, there is a magnet in the base which holds nicely to something steel or iron and also two magnets on the back side which give the option of sticking it to some metal from that side. Those two magnets are strong enough to hold up the light. The light has a USB type C connector for charging and does not come with a charger, but it does come with a USB to USB C cable. There are two lights to indicate the charging status, a red one for when it is charging and a green one for when the charging is complete. The light seems quite bright to me. I took a photo of it illuminating some plumbing in a wall and attached it. Since I didn’t have to pay for this, I felt that I couldn’t rate its value for the money. I haven’t had it long enough to rate its durability. And I haven’t tried to use it in the rain, so I couldn’t rate its water resistance. It could be that I have an early model, but I didn’t see any instructions other than some general safety warning, like don’t open it up. I also didn’t see any safety marks like UL or CSA on it, but I don’t know that this sort of product would need any. I can see this making it easier to get a light where you need it under a hood or inside a desktop computer. I wanted to add that it worked great for looking down inside a recliner chair to find something I had dropped. In the process I located all sorts of long lost items.
My husband always has projects he’s working on around the house, both computer-based and electrical/household-based. He says he always needs lights so I picked this one up. When it arrived, my husband immediately tried it out. He said the magnets work well, but only worked really well on a flat surface, but the light was very bright and usable. We both like that he can charge it using a USB-C cable; I love how versatile that is. One thing, though, that I found a little…cheesy…was that the light was the name of the product. When I accidentally looked at it, the word “Sunex” was burned in my retina! What an advertisement! LOL! This is a great light, and I recommend it!
