Buy extra 1/8 bits and take your time

Used this kit when one of my exhaust manifold studs broke flush with the head on my 2013 Ram 1500. I used a small air drill as that fit the best for me. Drilling took time, particularly with the small 1/8 bits, but I got through. Be sure to buy extra bits and go slow so you don’t overheat them. This kit worked quite well overall.

I didn’t bother with the extractor and instead opted to drill all the way and tap. The larger drill bits cut much faster so I didn’t think the extractor was worth the risk. Got the truck all buttoned up, no more exhaust leak.

AMAZING ford 2V or 3V exhaust stud removal tool.

2000 Ford Excursion V-10. Worked like a champ. I purchased this outside of Amazon, but needed to do this review. Great tool. I had 7 studs broken below the surface of the head out of 20. Welding to the stud trick did not work for me. The 2000 excursion with wheel wells out of the way gave plenty of room to work. 90 degree drill a must, with a few spare short bits. Also, need a tap as it does not come with one. This tool saved me hundreds on a shop doing the job. Win win for me as I now have another great tool! Slow and steady wins the race, do not rush it. USE CUTTING OIL on bits. Follow instructions on the video.
