Needs larger wrench

Only problem is that it takes a 3/4" tap wrench, wasn't listed in the product description and surprised me when I got it

Received Irwin/Hanson tap made in the USA

The tap I received came in an IRWIN/HANSON bag, and the tap itself is marked Hanson and USA. I have used it to clean previously tapped holes, and it did its job.

Purchased to clean up some aluminum welding flange fittings that had gotten galled during disassembly. Used some Boelube to smooth the cutting process. Nice clean threads when done. Worth the price even for a one-time use.

Careful not to poke your eye out

Though I knew what I was getting into, when this thing popped out of the box, I was impressed with the girth of this bad boy. My tiny little tap handle barely took it all, leaving little room to squeeze around the shaft to tighten. Needless to say I fully expected it to be rock hard, what with its advertised 58-61 rockwell hardness and all. One thing to remember, use plenty of lube when inserting into your hole to tap, slow is smooth and smooth is fast.
