Expensive? Yes. Works? Yes.
I had to remove the rear seatbelt bolt in my car (a torx type bolt), which was badly rounded off (please see pictures). I tried a few of the supposedly "proven" methods (drilling a hole into it and then using an extractor, vampliers, etc.), but they all failed miserably. The more I looked at the bolt's head, the more I realized I needed something that would grab on its exterior without damaging it further. By examining the Irwin's bolt extractor particular design, I got the feeling it'd be the only one to get the job done. After choosing the 22mm extractor, in a matter of a few seconds the bolt started moving almost effortlessly! I was amazed I didn't have to use much strength at all in order to remove the bolt, as the extractor did all the hard work. All I can say is I'm now a believer and that from now on, I'll always rely on the Irwin extractors to get the job done when it comes to removing badly rounded off bolts/screws. Other methods and extractor sets might work for you (depending on what screw/bolt you're trying to remove, its size, location, and condition), but this is by far the simplest, safest, quickest way to get those stubborn bolts unstuck and out of your hair.
Great tool but I suggest an impact wrench or driver to really get in there.....
Aslo the packaging is incorrect this is a 1/2 drive with a 3/8 adapter
best tools if you have emergency.
So far so good- use in heavy duty trucking industry.
