Great intermediate sander. Works better than the 250$ snap on. Not too fine, not too harsh.
It's pretty smoothe but I don't like the all plastic design and the air regulator is touchy.
First of all let me say that i absolutely love hutchins sanders and would rather pay more for them then any other brand. Before i got this sander i had a 3500 which i loved but thought it was a little on the heavy side and it's a 3/32 orbit so i needed something for doing bodywork. The 600 model is way lighter than the 3500 (i think it's under 2 lb) and as they say is very aggressive. takes bondo down like there's no tomorrow. when i first got the new sander i didn't like it so much because it takes a getting used to after using the 3500 for so long. it feels like it spins a lot faster then 10,000rpm. that's when my problem came in. i adjusted the air valve and it worked fine but it seemed like the more i used it the faster it got. later on i discovered that the valve adjusts itself from vibration because it was all the way on high after a couple minutes of using the sander.
the bottom line is that it's a great sander aside from the air valve "issue" but just doesn't feel like a hutchins. I would definitely recommend it to all body men and painters.
