I used this when I removed / installed some hoses, then this past week when I removed radiator hoses from an old Toyota 6 cylinder. I like that the clamp swivels, and I can attach the clamp from either direction left or right. It was very helpful, some might say overkill for radiator hoses. It worked well, except it often wouldn't open the spring clips far enough to slide them on the hoses, especially a new hose. Closing the clamp as tight as it would go (to the last notch) - the two handles were not not quite fully closed, but could be closed a little further if I had a free hand. I finally sprayed the hoses with a lot of silicon spray, and that enabled me to slide the clamps the rest of the way into place.
The advantage of this tool is that it clamps on, and you don't have to worry about pliers flying off and hurting something. Also, the angles the clamp on the end of the cable are much more flexible than pliers because they can go into smaller places.
Overall a good tool!
