Home run by me

This along with the M18 heatgun are great for wiring projects in side a vehicle. Much safer than fuel fired gun and irons. And more convenient the my AC powered stuff. Hate having the tangle of AC cords along with everything else.

Heats up fast and stays hot

This works great. It heats up fast and stays hot. I had a small circuit board finished in no time. I had no trouble creating intentional bridges on my proto board.

The only drawback is the placement of the LED light, I wish it was a 1/4-inch further from the centerline. As it is you get a pretty significant shadow right where you are trying to solder.

FYI - Check HDpt for replacement tips. Much better value than what I could find here.

Who needs 110V

Perfect for soldering jobs when job site does not have 110V. Standard 12V Milwaukee battery can be recharged before reaching job site. Can be operated from any 12V car battery if you are skilled enough to convert an old 12V battery into a 12V adapter with a cord that either plugs into a standard 12V receptacle of a cigarette lighter. Or use a cord with alligator clips that allow getting power from the battery terminal. To be sure, the old Milwaukee battery needs to be opened up to remove the non functioning battery part.
